E/D/E achieves their best result so far
E/D/E, (Purchasing Association of German Ironmongers) achieved the best results of their existence in the 2004 financial year, despite rather unfavorable existing economic conditions. Altogether the central regulated sales volume grew by 13.9 percent to almost 2.9 billion euros. The steel traders within E/D/E especially excelled themselves by completing the last financial year positively with an increase of 56 percent, resulting in a turnover of 385 million euros. 30 percent of this turnover growth can be assigned to recent price increases.
E/D/E with brilliant intermediate result
„After the first six months, we are working according to plan in all divisions of our company and for the turnover results we are well above our already ambitious targets”, concludes the new CEO of E/D/E, Hans-Jürgen Adorf.
E/D/E with a new management
Since January 1rst 2004 the Einkaufsbüro Deutscher Eisenhändler GmbH has a new management. The new general manager is Hans-Jürgen Adorf. Mr. Adorf has already been working as a managing director of the divisions wholesale trade and marketing for many years and possesses an excellent knowledge of the branch.
E/D/E Management to be Tightened Up
During the E/D/E conference on the future, held on June 23rd and June 24th in the Wuppertal Stadthalle, Dr. Eugen Trautwein announced that he intends standing down from the his position as E/D/E Managing Director at the end of the year. He will be replaced by Hans-Jürgen Adorf, who has served as General Manager for many years and is extremely familiar with the sector as a whole and the E/D/E in particular.
Hagebau third shareholder at ZEUS
The E/D/E in Wuppertal, EK Grosseinkauf eG in Bielefeld and hagebau trading company for building materials mbH&Co.KG in Soltau have recently signed the contracts for taking a share in ZEUS GmbH and to cooperate in their joint retail activities.
E/D/E-members and suppliers develop common strategies
E/D/E arranged a so-called "Member´s Fair/Branchentreff" on the cologne fairground from the 16.-19. September. This fair was intended for the members who deal with tools, fittings, sanitary and technical products as well as for the suppliers.
New strategic alliance secures future of member wholesale-companies
Completely without superstition the responsibles of GEWEMA eG , Kassel, Temaco eG, Osnabrueck and the members allocated in the specialist group of stationary machines for wood and plastic surface treatment in the E/D/E gave the go ahead for a new strategic alliance on the 13th September 2002. In this alliance, which will be only active under the name Gewema AG, all activities of all partners in the sector of wood and plastic working stationary machines will be combined. By this, the new buying-cooperation will be the strongest one in the market with its app. 60 members.
Meeting in Cologne in September 2002
Already for the third time E/D/E will held its special member´s meeting in Cologne in September this year.
E/D/E and ZEUS open house days on 15th and 16th May 2002
Coming up in May, both members from E/D/E and ZEUS have the unique opportunity to get known their buying organisation at its best. By this event, we wish to address those members, who may miss direct and personal contact due to the abandoning of the long established and traditional "buyer´s days". In addition, we will welcome all those members interested in our concepts and activities centering around our various warehouse-assortments.
A bright star in the fixtures branch
The 1st of January is an important day in the history of the two fixture buying organisations Befa, located at Neuss, and Ibau, located in Cologne, as well as E/D/E. On this special day of the new year these groups form a new group called Euro Baubeschlag-Handels AG with offices in Cologne and Wuppertal.
E/D/E on site
From 26. to 30.11.2001 40 E/D/E and ZEUS managers including the executive board will be travelling all over germany to meet the members. During the whole of this week E/D/E will give its members up-to-date information about activities, marketing and distribution-concepts. And of course all participants are available for queries and discussions.
Joint Venture with CaContent
E/D/E and CaContent have created a joint venture on 19.09.2001. CaContend is the most important German provider for electronic procurement. This joint venture is now called CaTradeNet and is located in Wuppertal.
An image of the whole sector
The building economy and thus all from the building activity directly influenced areas of activity also showed in the year 2001 a substantial decline in Germany. E/D/E represents through its activities a large number of branches related to the building industry. With 2.62 billion Euro of turnover the result therefore was 4.3 % down from the preceeding year.
70 years for the future
70 interesting years have past since the foundation of E/D/E. After the structure times there were numerous highlights and circulations, which helped E/D/E to extend from a pure purchasing company to a system head office with extensive service performances. Exciting times and revolutionary modifications were always present at E/D/E.
New trade mark E-TOP-Fittings
Starting in autumn E/D/E also offers its members internal door and furniture metal fittings within the trade mark E-TOP. The products are embedded into an extensive marketing concept that dealers can use for the acquisition of new customers and also achieve additional turnover potential.
