For around 1500 entrepreneurs and top decision-makers from the production connection trade, the Leipzig trade fair on
24. and
25 September was once again a focal point for inspiring and very content-rich discussions and at the same time with high efficiency in planning and implementation.
Under the motto “zusammenWACHSEN” (growing together), the Purchasing Office of German Ironmongers had invited visitors to the industry get-together and thus to the important
communication platform for its partners from industry and trade.
Wuppertal/Leipzig – For 25 years, the industry meeting concept has proven itself in its form as a so-called “trade fair in reverse”. Contract suppliers visit the members of E/D/E every 30 minutes for a personal exchange. The industry get-together thus offers the unique opportunity to hold a large number of personal meetings within just two days in order to initiate and further expand business relationships – all in one central location without having to travel long distances. “We see how valuable the personal exchange between participants is at every industry get-together. The fact that this exchange has a different quality when the market situation is tense, as is currently the case, was particularly evident this year. Strengthening strengths, advising each other and having enriching discussions – that’s what the industry get-together and the E/D/E network are all about,” summarizes Dr. Christoph Grote, member of the E/D/E Managing Director.
In focus: trends and challenges for B2B
Participants were able to find out more about selected services that E/D/E offers its members and suppliers on the branchentreff.com website in the run-up to the event.
During the industry get-together, the focus topics “DIGITALIZING TOGETHER”, “SUSTAINING TOGETHER” and “EDUCATING TOGETHER” were not only clearly visible, but also tangible. The respective E/D/E contact persons were available for consultations. Participants also had the opportunity to report on their experiences with the respective services in short videos. “Finding out directly from members and suppliers how the various services specifically help them or what changes they have already brought about in their company is essential for us in order to further strengthen our partners and thus the E/D/E network in a targeted manner,” explains Robert Kimmig, Head of Marketing at E/D/E. Interested parties can view the associated videos on the branchentreff.com website.
The fact that the persistently tense economic situation and the associated weak order situation in the manufacturing industry are keeping visitors busy was evident from the discussions among participants. Nevertheless, the atmosphere at Messe Leipzig was noticeably positive. “Especially in view of the tense economic situation and the structural challenges, it was encouraging to experience the good mood at the industry get-together in personal dialog. Even if we do not yet see a turnaround in the market situation overall, we were able to learn that there are currently market areas with positive developments and increasing demand. To sum up, there was a general sense of confidence, coupled with the desire to adapt to the current level and boost business through our own activities and ideas. This is a strength that distinguishes us as a medium-sized company,” says Dr. Andreas Trautwein, Chairman of the E/D/E Management Board, Dr. Andreas Trautwein.
Debut for two new E/D/E Managing Directors
The industry get-together was also a welcome platform to introduce two new members of the E/D/E Management Board. Marco Statt, Managing Director IT at E/D/E since March 1, 2024, and Christian Grotowsky, Managing Director Digital Services and Marketing since July 1, 2024, took the opportunity to introduce themselves personally to many participants. “Two days full of personal discussions with our partners – there’s no better way to experience the association than this!” Christian Grotowsky and Marco Statt agree.
About the E/D/E industry get-together total
The E/D/E Branchentreff total took place once again this year at Messe Leipzig and its concept enabled both members and suppliers to hold efficient and constructive discussions in a pleasant atmosphere. On the evening before the event, the networking concept was put into practice at four different evening events, which were held at attractive locations in Leipzig for the various product areas and enabled participants to engage in targeted discussions within their sector.
