E/D/E Christmas wish star campaign: 230 children’s wishes fulfilled and 14 additional social projects supported

The Christmas Wish Star campaign organized by the Einkaufsbüro Deutscher Eisenhändler (E/D/E) has once again made children’s eyes light up this year. At a festive Christmas party at the company headquarters in Wuppertal, the wishes of 230 needy children and young people from Wuppertal children’s and youth homes were fulfilled.

Wuppertal – E/D/E employees have been involved in this special campaign for 16 years: they donate, buy presents such as remote-controlled cars, footballs or other heartfelt wishes and wrap them lovingly for the party. They bake diligently in the run-up to the event and the children can have their faces painted by the Christmas elves during the party. The highlight is the handover by Santa Claus, who for the first time comes from among the company’s employees, in the festively decorated foyer.

“The Christmas Wish Star campaign is a project close to our hearts. It shows how committed our employees are to the region. Over the years, we have been able to bring joy to over 3,000 children,” emphasizes Dr. Andreas Trautwein, Chairman of the E/D/E Management Board, Dr. Andreas Trautwein.

Petra Müller, Operations Manager of the children’s and youth residential groups in Wuppertal, also praises the commitment: “For children who can’t live with their families, moments like these are priceless.”

E/D/E and the E/D/E Foundation also support 14 social projects

In addition to the Christmas Wish Star campaign, E/D/E and the E/D/E Foundation are supporting 14 other projects in Wuppertal during the Advent season, which are primarily dedicated to promoting education and charity. These include Kinder-Tafel Vohwinkel, Lichtschmiede e.V. and the Chance! Wuppertal. “We want to take on sustainability and responsibility and specifically support institutions that offer prospects to children and young people, especially those in need and those living in institutions,” explains Jennifer Träptau, Sustainability Officer at the E/D/E Group. With this combination of Christmas wish star campaign and project support, E/D/E is underlining its role as a responsible company in the region.
