Once again this year, the annual Christmas Wish Star campaign organized by Einkaufsbüro Deutscher Eisenhändler (E/D/E) made 230 children’s eyes light up. At a joint Christmas party with E/D/E employees, the children and young people were delighted to see their Christmas wishes come true.
Wuppertal – Last Wednesday, December 11th, excited young and old guests from the children’s and youth residential groups of the city of Wuppertal visited E/D/E for the Christmas Wish Star campaign.
At this annual event, E/D/E employees fulfill the Christmas wishes of needy children and young people from children’s and youth homes in Wuppertal. Whether it’s a remote-controlled racing car, a doll or a soccer – the employees donate money or choose a star, get the present and wrap it for the Christmas party.
The highlight of the campaign: the final joint Christmas party in the E/D/E foyer. This year, the young and old guests from the Wuppertal children’s and youth facilities were picked up by bus and taken to the E/D/E company headquarters, where Santa Claus distributed the presents. Together with E/D/E employees and Christmas helpers, the children then got in the mood for Christmas with home-baked treats and face painting. “As a family, it is very important to us to take on a social role in our region responsibility. I am therefore all the more pleased that this year marks the 15th anniversary of the Christmas Wish Star campaign launched by my father for E/D/E. With this campaign, which has been generously supported by our employees since the beginning, we have been able to fulfill the Christmas wishes of hundreds of children over the years, which touches us deeply,” says Dr. Andreas Trautwein, Chairman of E/D/E Management Board.
Every year I am impressed by the commitment and generosity of the E/D/E wish fulfillers. With great dedication, they provide the presents that the children want so much, donate from the bottom of their hearts and put a smile on the little ones’ faces. This is invaluable, especially for children and young people who are not currently living with their nuclear families,” says Petra Müller, Operations Manager of the children’s and young people’s residential groups in Wuppertal. During the Christmas period in particular, E/D/E and the E/D/E Foundation jointly support carefully selected projects in Wuppertal that are primarily dedicated to promoting education and charity. “This year, in addition to the Junior Uni Wuppertal, the Alte Feuerwache Wuppertal and the Soziales Hilfswerk Wuppertal-Langerfeld, numerous other social institutions are involved,” says Jennifer Träptau, Sustainability Officer at E/D/E Group.
