With SHOPcloud360, E/D/E offers its members an additional service element in e-commerce and e-business. The new platform is based on cloud-based technology from the provider Intershop. The E/D/E Group is thus continuing to invest in the future viability of the medium-sized industrial B2B/industrial B2B sector.
Wuppertal – “With SHOPcloud360, we have created a solution together with Intershop that, together with our in-depth E/D/E industry knowledge, fits perfectly into the world of B2B and into the logic of the buying group,” says Joachim Hiemeyer, Managing Director at E/D/E with responsibility for the Digital Services division, among other things. The core task of E/D/E is to strengthen its members and their market performance and efficiency. “We have therefore decided to differentiate and further develop our range of services to meet the requirements of our members by creating this scalable network solution,” explains Dr. Christoph Grote, E/D/E Managing Director with responsibility for member and supplier management, among other things. E/D/E contract suppliers benefit equally from the opportunities of a higher digital sales reach and a professional brand presence in the dealer stores.
Genuine B2B/industrial B2B sector solution with high scalability
The decision in favor of Intershop as a technology partner was preceded by an intensive and systematic comparison of providers in the market and the requirements of the industrial B2B/industrial B2B sector. The particularly relevant market-side requirements that were recorded in advance in an exchange with E/D/E members include, for example:
- very good usability for the buying customer
- An intelligent search function for finding products quickly
- Flexibility in structuring the product ranges
- the best possible support for the customer journey
- good handling in data management
- High scalability in system performance and in the further development of the store solution
“With Intershop, we have gained a powerful, internationally oriented partner,” says Joachim Hiemeyer. E/D/E will also ensure the integration of the new store system into its product data offering, the networked systems and networking with suppliers and end customers.
Successful test phase, go-live at the start of the year
The first retailer stores went live with selected end customers back in September. This provided valuable insights for the further development of SHOPcloud360 with the aim of becoming the best store solution for PVH. Ullner und Ullner GmbH from Paderborn was one of the first distributors to launch the so-called MVP (Minimum Viable Product) – i.e. an initial version of the product. The test phase has been very efficient, so that nothing stands in the way of a go-live at the start of the year.
“E-commerce is an important additional pillar for us as distributors and a holistic customer approach is becoming increasingly important. We are noticing that the approach to commercial and private customers is becoming increasingly blurred. This is where SHOPcloud360 offers the perfect solution to meet the requirements of both target groups equally on one platform,” reports Markus Austenfeld, Managing Director responsible for the project at Ullner u. Ullner. “Together with Intershop and E/D/E, we are creating a product that fits perfectly with PVH,” Austenfeld continues.
E/D/E and Intershop: strong partners for e-commerce at PVH
“We are very pleased to have E/D/E as a strong partner at our side. Together, we have succeeded in creating a powerful store system to enable our affiliated members to further digitalize and transform their business,” says Markus Klahn, CEO of Intershop Communications AG.
