Creating perspective together

To us, economically responsible actions mean successfully managing our business. E/D/E regards itself as having great responsibility towards its business partners in the sector and hence it is obligated to be successful economically. As an association, we see ourselves as a network and view our acting always in context with its direct effects on our partners. As a central link between trade and manufacturers we put great value on a regular exchange and mutual support.

As an association, we see ourselves as a network and view our acting always in context with its direct effects on our partners. As a central link between trade and manufacturers we put great value on a regular exchange and mutual support.

Cooperation with members and suppliers is marked by long-standing personal relations. The corporate motto “Successfully hand in hand” is a given in cooperation with our partners. The family business, founded in 1931, is run by Dr. Andreas Trautwein, chairman of the executive board, in the third generation. Inspite of its expansion, E/D/E has remained a medium-scale family business, exactly like our members and most of our suppliers. Medium-scale businesses are an important pillar of the German economy and secure many jobs.

With its high equity share of 45.7 percent, E/D/E is independent and also stable in times of crisis. With our individually cut out sales concepts and trade brands, E/D/E strenghthens the market position of its members. Sustainable management makes us an important component of the urban and transregional economy. Profits earned are to a large part re-invested in the company. The owner family and the management of E/D/E thus stresses its high degree of responsibility toward the company, employees and affiliated companies.

  • The future in sight

With its corporate strategy CHALLENGE 2020, E/D/E has given itself a strong guideline until the end of the decade, a clear vision and ambitious aims. The core-projects of CHALLENGE 2020 have reached first milestones during the past year. The new online-marketplace Toolineo was launched on December 17th, 2015. Another milestone is the electronic data-centre eDC, which was launched in 2014. It comprises a completely new product information program (PIM) and provides members with a comprehensive data pool of all manufacturer data. Other milestones that are being worked on are the doubling of storage capacity up to 150000 items, expansion of the activities of ETRIS Bank GmbH, increasing trade volume in Europe as well as enhancing the degree of networking and communication within the association.

Both owners and managers of E/D/E partner companies participate, meeting several times annually. For young talents in the industry, both qualification measures offer support for juniors and young entrepreneurs in starting out as company leaders. In order to boost expansion of training-possibilities, E/D/E created the concept of the AKADEMIE a further training institution for dealers and suppliers. It functions as a central platform for qualification in Industrial B2B.

  • Sponsoring of Junior Talent

The Business to Business trade has been active for decades in the training and further education of young people. The sector is aware that today’s junior talent ensures the future of the company, as experts and executives are and remain the most important performance factor. E/D/E is setting a good example, as in particular the charitable E/D/E Foundation promotes dedicated and talented junior employees through scholarships.
