Creating perspective together

To us, economically responsible actions mean successfully managing our business. E/D/E regards itself as having great responsibility towards its business partners in the sector and hence it is obligated to be successful economically. As an association, we see ourselves as a network and view our acting always in context with its direct effects on our partners. As a central link between trade and manufacturers we put great value on a regular exchange and mutual support.

Cooperation with members and suppliers is marked by long-standing personal relations. The corporate motto “Successfully hand in hand” is a given in cooperation with our partners. The family business, founded in 1931, is run by Dr. Andreas Trautwein, chairman of the executive board, in the third generation. Inspite of its expansion, E/D/E has remained a medium-scale family business, exactly like our members and most of our suppliers. Medium-scale businesses are an important pillar of the German economy and secure many jobs.

With its high equity share of 45.7 percent, E/D/E is independent and also stable in times of crisis. With our individually cut out sales concepts and trade brands, E/D/E strenghthens the market position of its members. Sustainable management makes us an important component of the urban and transregional economy. Profits earned are to a large part re-invested in the company. The owner family and the management of E/D/E thus stresses its high degree of responsibility toward the company, employees and affiliated companies.

  • Sponsoring of Junior Talent

The Business to Business trade has been active for decades in the training and further education of young people. The sector is aware that today’s junior talent ensures the future of the company, as experts and executives are and remain the most important performance factor. E/D/E is setting a good example, as in particular the charitable E/D/E Foundation promotes dedicated and talented junior employees through scholarships.

E/D/E sets great store on training the junior talent in the sector as best as possible, thus overall increasing success. For this purpose, we have been holding the contest “Trainee of the Year” since 2009. E/D/E members from the Business to Business trade have the possibility of nominating the best trainees of the year and of registering them for the contest.

  • The future in sight
